Mark Kiefer is an economics and management consultant with over 25 years of experience specializing in the transportation, aerospace, and defense industries. He has led dozens of consulting engagements involving business strategy, litigation and regulatory support, and public policy analysis. His clients have included major airlines, large hub major airports, global aerospace and defense firms, transportation equipment manufacturers, advanced technology start-ups, law firms, trade associations, public transport operators, and agencies at all levels of government. His work has focused on providing economic analysis to help clients understand the strategic implications and market potential of new products, services, or technologies, quantify damages in litigation matters, and estimate the economic impacts of policy and regulatory measures. He has testified as an expert witness in federal court (deposition, Affidavit, and live testimony) and before the Aviation subcommittee of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Mark is a noted expert in the economics of the aviation industry, having been quoted on aviation issues in The New York Times, USA Today, Aviation Week, Business Week, and on PBS’s Nightly Business Report, National Public Radio, and Fox Business Network. Prior to founding Mark Kiefer Consulting in 2010 he was a Principal in the Transportation and Aerospace & Defense practices at Charles River Associates. He holds a B.A. in economics from Wesleyan University.
